Qatari fencer Adham Al Deeb won silver in the individual foil event at the Asian U23 Fencing Championships, which are being held in Bahrain.
Al Deeb reached the final and pushed the top seed, Hong Kong’s Lau King Hei Tsun Yin, to the very last touch. Lau took the gold with a 15-14 win, a margin of just one point.
The result adds to Qatar’s run of continental podium finishes and gives Al Deeb momentum as he prepares to compete at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
