Qatari women clinch Bronze in Foil Team at the Arab Games

DOHA, 23 December 2011 – Qatari women took bronze in the foil team Friday at the Arab Games, Doha 2011. In the semi-finals they lost to Tunisia 5-45 to settled third for the bronze medal on the concluding day of the 15-day Games. In the other semi-finals, Egypt overpower Lebanon 45-25 to setup the gold clash against Tunisia. “The bout was OK. It was not tough nor easy. We beat them because our team have more experience than them. But they are good, they fence hard and they still young. They have a bright future.” On the final against Tunisia: “Tunisia and Egypt always face each other in the final. The Tunisians fencers are strong. The bout will be interesting, we will take advantage of our strength and, Inshallah, we will lead the bout.”
